i dont even particularly mind that “don’t say goodbye” never made it into the actual game but the reformatting of glados’ “my blackbox preserved the moment of my death so i had to watch you kill me over and over and over and over and over again” to “you were in my dreams while i slept forever” is so wild
imagine something as lonely and immortal and as immovable from a decaying underground facility full of ghosts. no wind or grass or deer. and it used to be a human that did not want to live forever. now imagine you died, and for up to a possible canon of 50,000 years had the same dream of your death where the only other living thing you experienced in that time was the technologically captured memory of this one human girl. so you are only not alone in this possibly eons long dream because of her. and yes she is killing you the whole time in the dream. and then one day she wakes you up again.
